Luke Kuechly named NFC defensive player of the week

You could have made a case for three Panthers winning NFC defensive player of the week honors.

But Luke Kuechly stood out even in that crowd.

The Panthers middle linebacker had roughly 1,647,892 tackles in their 17-13 win over the Saints.

The game-day count was 24, and the Panthers coaches went back and called it 26. Either way, it was a lot, along with an interception in the playoff-clinching win.

Since the league started tracking the hard-to-track stat in 1994, Kuechly and Derrick Brooks are the only players with at least 20 and an interception in the same game.

You could have made a strong case this week for Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis (14 tackles and an interception) or defensive end Greg Hardy (three sacks), but Kuechly’s performance was the best of an outstanding group.

2/3rds of the world is covered by water, the other 1/3rd is covered by Luke Kuechly

This is a ‘DUH’ choice… but… one the NFL could probably screw up (but didn’t this time).

HAPPY HOLIDAYS to tech, writers/contributors, management… and… most of all… my fellow posters (even the ones who don’t except THE FACT that Andy Dalton has low quality #2 and #3 wide receivers and crappy Jermaine Gresham).

heck, 26 tackles and a pick would be solid numbers for a month, let alone one game against Breeses. (sorry Drew, you are not the other Son of God, although many Saints fans would disagree.)

    Well done Luuuke!

    Happy Birthday Jesus!

Bowman was not mention in this after that beautiful game winning pick 6…amazing. Patrick Willis had like 19 tackles and made a few amazing hits for lost and a couple pass deflection.

Luke once ate a 72 oz steak in 1 hour. He spent the first 57 minutes losing a dance competition with his waitress.
