Quarterback Joe Flacco joined just about every one of his teammates in playing poorly against the Patriots in a 41-7 loss last Sunday, but he said Tuesday that his sprained left knee wasn’t the reason for his struggles.

Flacco said that his knee felt good during the game, differing a bit from coach John Harbaugh’s assessment that Flacco wasn’t 100 percent during the game, and that “it feels better” in general despite some soreness on Monday and Tuesday. Flacco is never the most mobile of quarterbacks, but he looked even less mobile against the Patriots while wearing a brace that he’ll wear again this week.

“I’m going to do it the same way,” Flacco said, via the team’s website. “I really just want to make sure I can be as safe as I can moving forward so nothing crazy happens. I’m pretty comfortable with it. It’s not ideal, but it is what it is and it’s not that big of an issue.”

The Ravens offense has also not been ideal this season and more of the same will almost certainly end their season on Sunday. Flacco, compromised or not, will be on the spot as the man trying to turn things around.
