Darrelle Revis: Bucs need to make some changes

Buccaneers cornerback Darrelle Revis is in line for one of those cushy analyst gigs when he’s done with football.

Because while he wasn’t advocating a coaching change, he did say Thursday that the Buccaneers needed to do something differently so they’re not sitting around 4-11 this time next year.

I think we do need to change some things this offseason as we move forward as players and as coaches and figure things out and try to turn the win-loss column to more wins,’’ Revis said, via Pat Yasinskas of “There are some adjustments we’ve got to make in the offseason, but we will. We’ll do that and try to turn things around.

“After every season, you’ve always got to evaluate yourself. That’s the process. You’ve got to evaluate yourself as a player and as coaches as well. We’ve all got to do it and try to figure out a way to be better in 2014.’’

Revis said he’d be happy to consult with the decision-makers on that process, if need be.

“This is my seventh year,’’ Revis said. “After every year I’ve talked to coaches and players and tried to figure out a way how we can be better the next year. I’m sure the coaches are going to be very open to that and players are going to be very open to talking and try to figure out what was the problem and what we need to fix moving forward to be a better team next year.”

At this point, no one is certain who the coach is going to be. But if there is a change, the new guy will be comforted to know Revis has some suggestions.

If Revis has any ideas on finding a quarterback or a pass rusher, or eradicating MRSA, I’m sure his boss would welcome those as well.

Revis is on to something. If they don’t make changes, then that could be another 4 win season. They should go for changes. Most definitely. Put me down as a vote for changes too. Anybody else in on that?

    Yes they do, including:
    1. Cut your salary
    2. Get a new head coach
    3. Sterilize their locker rooms

Revis should just shut up and ball…

    1. They have a QB- Glennon deserves to continue to start

    2. MRSA infections can be treated w/ medical maggots. Sounds odd but it’s extremely effective for open wounds and FDA approved.

    3. Draft a pass rusher in the draft. Team will certainly have a decent pick.

I’ll even throw in another solution. Fire Schiano, he’s a terrible coach. He hasn’t been a consistent winner at any level. Bring in a coach with NFL experience.

    Your welcome.

and if the Glazers decide to stick with him at least fire Sullivan please!!! Defense has been slowly getting better these past two years but I can’t even stare at that horrendous offense anymore.

    68 wins – 67 losses at Rutgers

28 wins – 48 losses in conference games

Since the dude has played for, in order, Mangini-Ryan-Schiano I would say he may have some idea what he’s talking about.

This guy has a bigger mouth than Jerr bear.

Maybe they can bring in Rex Ryan and have a reunion.

Yea, the high school level head coach needs to be the first one.

Sign Tebow and T.O. and break out the orange every week.

Seems like the last offseason you had like this you consulted with your agent. Tampa went island shopping and the agent got his asking price for the seller. Buyer’s remorse, anybody?

Cut downs on the penalties. If they had done that this year they could very well be 7-9 or even 9-7. Goldson is the worst, then the OL.

Seriously… schiano must be a great interview because there is no way a guy with his record should be coaching at this level.

Do you think he has naked pictures of Glazer’s wife or connections to organized crime?!?

It has to be something pretty creepy or sketchy.

anyone else think one of revis’ suggestions to the bucs will be for the bucs to pay revis more money?

  16. doctorrustbelt says: Dec 26, 2013 6:38 PM

The water that surrounds Revis Island is darrelle’s own tears.

  17. cheapglazers says: Dec 26, 2013 7:04 PM

Schiano has dirt on the Glazers that can lock them up for a long time. He isn’t going anywhere unless they pay him a huge severance.

  18. evilglazers666 says: Dec 26, 2013 7:07 PM

Yeah no kidding. The Glazers need to sell the team.

  19. ramrod05 says: Dec 26, 2013 8:28 PM

Revis should tell management that he just love Penn, Joseph, Zuttah, Carimi, Larsen, Nicks, Underwood, Owusu, Leonard, Crabtree and Dotson on offense and just adore Bowers, Teo’Nesem, Landri, Means, Spence, Johnson, Adams, Tandy and Lindell.

Now, let’s get rid of them. With the exception of Nicks, everyone of these players are backups or shouldn’t be playing in the NFL!!

    I thought revis was retired.
