Vontaze Burfict present at practice Friday

One of the Bengals’ defensive starters was back on the practice field Friday.

Weak-side linebacker Vontaze Burfict (concussion) returned to practice two days before the Bengals host the Ravens in Sunday’s regular-season finale, Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com reported this morning.

A second-year pro from Arizona State, Burfict has been a productive, physical, tone-setting presence for the Bengals’ defense. He leads the NFL with 157 tackles.

While Burfict could now be on track to play Sunday, the statuses of tight ends Jermaine Gresham (hamstring) and Tyler Eifert (neck) are a little more in doubt. Neither Gresham nor Eifert was present early at practice, Hobson reported. Eifert hasn’t practiced all week, while Gresham didn’t practice on Thursday.

Alex Smith and Orson Charles would be the Bengals’ primary tight ends if Gresham and Eifert were to sit out Sunday.

The AFC North-champion Bengals can earn a first-round bye with a win vs. Baltimore and a New England loss to Buffalo.

    The NFL’s Two Best Linebackers:

    1) One plays in Cincinnati

    2) One was born and raised in Cincinnati

Taze is a monster. We should go full boar this week, hope for a little help from Buffalo and give our boys a bye week to get right.

Kuechly grew up in Evendale, not Cincinnati. After being born in Cincinnati his parents got him out of that dump as quick as they could.

If Gresham can’t play someone else will have to step into his role of dropping passes, fumbling, and committing drive killing penalties.

Mark my words, before this season is over, you will know why we call them the “Bungles”.

Vontaze Burfict is one of the best downhill LB’s in the league. I hope he’s learned a lot from James Harrison on how to rush the passer! #yearoftheBengals

Evendale is a suburb of Cincinnati, nestled inside I-275, the loop that circles the city. This is equivalent to arguing that Glenshaw isn’t Pittsburgh.

    MAP FAIL!!!

Saying that Evendale isn’t in Cincinnati is the equivalent of arguing that Washington D.C. isn’t in the United States of America.

    LOL!!!

Evendale technically isn’t a part of Cincinnati. Look at however you want, but that’s the technical truth.

The “Bungles” have won your division and have been a better team than the Steelers for 2-3 years now. I know that stings, but get used to it, cuz it’s going to be that way for awhile.
