Despite being healed, Flacco’s sticking with knee brace

Flacco AP

Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco has been removed from the injury report after recovering from a left knee injury, but he won’t be removing the brace from his previously injured left knee.

Per a league source, Flacco will indeed stick with the brace on Sunday at Cincinnati even though he has not been mentioned at all in this week’s injury report.

That meshes with Flacco’s comments to reporters from Tuesday, two days after an ugly loss to the Patriots during which Flacco seemed to be bothered by the knee he injured the prior Monday night at Detroit.“I’m going to do it the same way,” Flacco said, via the team’s official website.  “I really just want to make sure I can be as safe as I can moving forward so nothing crazy happens.  I’m pretty comfortable with it.  It’s not ideal, but it is what it is and it’s not that big of an issue.”

Based on the official injury report, the knee injury isn’t an issue at all.  Which means that the brace is being worn primarily if not exclusively for Flacco’s peace of mind, given the scare he received 12 days ago.

I sprained my mcl and it didn’t feel normal for well over a month. Kinda hard to believe Flacco is really healed this quickly, but he’s definitely a tough guy.

His completion percentage, passer rating, and interception to touchdowns percentage needs a brace as well…

    More than likely surgery….

He and palms up Harbaugh are perfect for each other.

Smart move, Brady did the same thing after returning from surgery. To all his critics, Flacco wins. That’s is his team’s number one objective.

Prove to me you can beat the Ravens when it counts Andy. I doubt you.

A very funny pattern is emerging. Suggs, Lewis, and now a Flacco with the speedy recoveries. I guess there must be healing powers in the water…..right?

    LMAO

Sad and funny at the same time…Steeler fans with nothing better to do than drop trollisms in the middle of a Bengal – Raven discussion.

I think the Bengals are too tough at home this year for my Ravens to keep their post season streak alive.

If so, good luck Marvin Lewis…you deserve some post season success.

SMD why a raven fan would bring up trollisms….biggest trolls on this site are raven fans.

Funny how you are already practicing the raven whine about Jump Ball Joe’s Bad Knee….. I remember your understanding comments about Ben’s injuries….hypocrites need no training in Baltimore ….they are born that way.

Bengals have a shot at the second seed, I like them at home. Even if the ravens pull it out I think both the chargers and dolphins win as well. A 3 way tie belongs to the dolphins.

Rustbelt, give the stats a rest man! I’m a Steeler fan, but at least flacco has won post season games and a superbowl! When the bengals win one, then maybe you can add something to the conversation !

  15. tubbman27 says: Dec 28, 2013 8:17 PM

Brace, no brace, my guess is he stinks either way.

  16. laidbacklady says: Dec 28, 2013 8:49 PM

I am sure it is for his safety, security and peace of mind. Where you like Flacco or not, like the Ravens or not, the Ravens have went to the playoffs every year since Flacco has been quarterback, so hate on! The man as a magnificent throwing arm. I love my Ravens and will be hoping for a win on Sunday.

I Actually find the good dr stats about Flacco amusing anytime he post them, it is the truth, I give Joe this, as much as he has been inconsistent he is a gamer sometimes. just not consistent enough. Then again Ravens nation is happy to have him when you have had the Kyle Boller’s and Tony Wright’s of the world.

What’s important is first two seasons flacco has three victories and a AFC Championship- dalton zero wins. Also I’m happy for dalton but in three years he will he begging for a huge contract
