Broncos safety Rahim Moore can return to the team in time for the AFC title game. He may not be able to.
According to Mike Klis and Joan Niesen of the Denver Post, Moore said Friday that he has suffered a setback in his effort to return from a leg injury. In November, Moore underwent surgery to alleviate compartment syndrome. He has not yet been able to run.
Moore was placed on injured reserve with the designation to return. Each team can use that label once per year. Otherwise, players placed on IR are done for the season.
For Moore, the 2013 playoffs provide an opportunity for redemption. In January, Ravens receiver Jacoby Jones got behind Moore deep, and Moore misplayed an underthrown pass that became a touchdown for Jones and overtime for the Broncos. Baltimore eventually won with a field goal in the second extra session.
