Rams wide receiver Tavon Austin’s rookie season is officially over.

Austin is inactive because of an ankle injury for the third straight week. The eighth overall pick ends his first NFL year with 40 catches for 418 yards and four touchdowns. Austin also scored on a running play and on a punt return to display the versatility that led the Rams to trade up for him in the first round in April.

Austin’s absence gives the Seahawks one less thing to worry about as they try to clinch home field in the NFC playoffs. They put wide receiver Percy Harvin, running back Christine Michael, linebacker K.J. Wright, defensive end Benson Mayowa, offensive lineman Michael Bowie, offensive lineman Caylin Hauptmann and defensive tackle Jordan Hill.

Running back Daryl Richardson, safety Quinton Pointer, defenive end Sammy Brown, guard Harvey Dahl, defensive tackle Matt Conrath and tackle Mike Person are also out for the Rams.
