Texans lead Titans 7-6 at halftime of a classic

After losing 13 straight games, the Texans are screwing up the one they really need to lose.

Houston leads the Titans 7-6 at halftime, putting the first pick in the draft in jeopardy.

The Texans can clinch the top spot with a loss, or a Redskins win.

Texans quarterback Matt Schaub is playing a reasonably efficient game, 13-of-20 for 134 yards in what is likely his last start there. Jonathan Grimes, the Texans’ fourth starting running back of the year, scored an early touchdown, and the Texans defense has played solidly.

That defense is a large part of why the job is perceived as attractive, and with Gary Kubiak having been fired already, it might be filled sooner rather than later.

Titans kicker Rob Bironas hit a 55-yard field goal as time expired to get Tennessee to within one at the break.
