Head coaches have been falling around the NFL since Sunday night, but there’s still no definitive word on Mike Munchak’s future in the NFL.

Munchak said Monday, via Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean, that he expects to meet with General Manager Ruston Webster in the next couple of days and then speak with team president and CEO Tommy Smith later in the week. Munchak admitted that “it’s hard” not knowing whether or not he’ll be retained as the team’s coach but that his players are “big boys” that shouldn’t be worrying about his fate.

One topic that Munchak plans to discuss with Smith is the expiration of his contract after next season and the possibility that he would be a lame duck next season. That topic will obviously be moot if Smith decides to move in a different direction, but if the owner’s being deliberate than the coach might as well be deliberate as well.

Munchak also said that he thinks the Titans would have advanced to the playoffs if Jake Locker was able to start at quarterback all season. That dovetailed with his positive review of offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains’ work this season and an indication that Munchak would like Loggains back if gets to make that call.
