It’s the last power rankings of the year

San Francisco 49ers v Arizona Cardinals

during the NFL game at the University of Phoenix Stadium on December 29, 2013 in Glendale, Arizona.

The regular season has ended. For 20 teams, the offseason has begun.

For 32 teams, there’s one final occasion to apply a meaningless top-to-bottom ranking of the franchises pending the ability of the best 12 teams to hash it out on the field.

OK, so it’s not the best 12 teams. The Cardinals are out, and the Packers are in. And a major officiating blunder gave the final spot in the AFC to San Diego over Pittsburgh.

Regardless, the process of whittling the remaining field down to one begins soon. Until then, you’ll have to settle for irrelevant lists like this one.
