As the Bengals began their on-field work for Sunday’s wild-card game, their top wide receiver was not taking part in practice.
According to multiple reports from Bengals beat writers, A.J. Green was not practicing on Wednesday.
However, Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com said Wednesday that “all signs” point to Green taking the field against the Chargers on Sunday at Paul Brown Stadium.
It was not immediately clear why Green wasn’t practicing. He has not been on the injury report since Week 14, when he was listed as having a groin ailment. He played in all 16 games this season, making the Pro Bowl for the third time in as many NFL campaigns.
The 25-year-old Green hauled in 98 passes for 1,426 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2013 for Cincinnati, which won the AFC North.
