Dwayne Bowe cleared to play, Eric Fisher questionable

There’s good news and bad news on the injury front for the Chiefs.

The good news is that wide receiver Dwayne Bowe has been cleared to play in Saturday’s game against the Colts after suffering a concussion in Week 16. Bowe was trending in this direction after returning to practice on Tuesday and it’s good news for the Chiefs offense, especially with the Colts dealing with injuries to cornerbacks Vontae Davis, Greg Toler and Darius Butler.

The bad news is that right tackle Eric Fisher injured his groin in practice on Tuesday. Adam Teicher of reports that Fisher will not practice on Wednesday and that he may not be healthy in time to play on Sunday. With left tackle Branden Albert expected back from the knee injury that sidelined him for the last few games of the season, Donald Stephenson would likely shift to the right side if Fisher can’t go.

An update on linebacker Tamba Hali falls somewhere in the middle. Teicher reports that he may practice on Wednesday despite a knee injury that’s kept him off the field for the last week. If he does practice, he should stand a good chance of being in the lineup.

I don’t think Fisher’s one of their 5 best OL…. as a Chiefs fan I’d be happy going in with Albert and Stephenson at tackle.

Fishers gonna be really good, but right now he still stinks of the MAC and we’re talking about blocking Robert Mathis here.

Stephenson > Fisher, so what’s the bad news? Maybe someday Fisher will be good but he has not adjusted well to switching sides.

He’s doing fine for a rookie. He’s played well the last half of the season, and I think he’ll be. A strong left tackle next year. This Saturday, his coming off the bench doesn’t hurt my feelings any.
