Bengals list Terence Newman as doubtful

The Bengals got cornerback Terence Newman back at practice on Friday, but it looks like his knee injury is going to keep him out of a fourth straight game.

Newman is listed as doubtful on the team’s injury report for Sunday’s game, leaving him with a 25 percent chance of suiting up to face the Chargers. Newman was a limited participant in practice and the doubtful designation suggests that he’s too limited to be of much help to the Bengals in the Wild Card round.

Tight ends Tyler Eifert (stinger) and Jermaine Gresham (hamstring) both missed Week 17, but returned to practice this week and are listed as questionable. Center Kyle Cook (foot) and defensive end Wallace Gilberry (concussion) are also questionable.

Tackle Anthony Collins, who missed practice Wednesday and Thursday because of an ankle injury, is expected to play. So is wide receiver A.J. Green, who didn’t practice Wednesday but never appeared to be in doubt of missing the game.

He was Doubtful for the Coyboys for years. And that was when he was healthy.

So much for Marvin’s 1 to 3 week recovery prediction after Newman was injured.
