Irsay’s tweeting about blackout “jibber jabber”

While there’s been no official announcement, it appears the Colts might have sold enough tickets to be on local television tomorrow.

Colts owner Jim Irsay just tweeted out what could be construed as news of a sellout.

Of course, “jibber jabber” is kind of a second language for Irsay when he gets on the amazing tweeter machine, so it’s entirely possible he’s talking about something else, or quoting some lost Dylan lyrics or something.

The Colts, like the Bengals and Packers got extensions to try to sell enough tickets to lift local television blackouts. They were within 3,000 tickets yesterday afternoon, with a local television station discussing buying some portion of the rest.

The fact that it even comes to this is pathetic. It is a playoff game in a dome. How the hell can you not sell enough tickets to it?

  2. bucrightoff says: Jan 3, 2014 9:28 AM

Irsay sees at least two blackouts a week, no need to make it a third Colts fans.

    This guy is truly crazy.

  4. PeterKingLovesCoqAVin says: Jan 3, 2014 9:30 AM

The NBC affiliate has been running commercials practically begging people to buy tickets. I’m sure they and Irsay paid for the unsold portion.

This site’s obsession with Jim Irsay’s Twitter account has crossed over into the realm of straight creepy.

I hope the Colts will be on TV, because this writer can’t afford the $350 asking price for two tickets.

I pity the fool who says jibber jabber without the permission of Mr T!

Irsay is such an unprofessional clown. Fran Tarkenton was right when he called him an idiot. I call Peyton Manning arguably the most notorious playoff choker in football history as much as the next guy, but imagine calling out him for dragging those gumps to “only” one Superb Owl victory when you’ve got Hall of Fame QBs like Marino, Kelly, Tarkenton, Moon, etc, who couldn’t win a single one.

Pretty pathetic that a team can’t sell out for a playoff game.

Bengals and packers fans at least have somewhat of an excuse because the stadiums there are outside and it will be freezing. With colts fans though they are in a dome and there should be no reason they blackout.

Best owner in the NFL. Period.

The name of the chain store, by the way is Meijer. I wanted to make sure they got the credit for their generous deed for military families. I’ve never heard of them before, I don’t think they exist anywhere near here in San Diego.

  26. xli2006 says: Jan 3, 2014 10:25 AM

They’ve sold out over 105 consecutive games and every game for basically the past 15 years.

These tix just went on sale a few days ago and just sold out. Many seats are held by either 3rd parties (Resellers or Tick Brokers) or Companies so they get released to the public.

When Green Bay has issues selling out you realize there is more to the story.

It sold out, like Colts games do. What’s the issue?

  27. profootballfansassociation says: Jan 3, 2014 10:25 AM
