Eagles take 24-23 lead late in fourth

The Saints haven’t gotten cornerback Keenan Lewis back in the lineup and the Eagles have taken advantage of his absence.

They’ve outscored New Orleans 17-3 since Lewis left the game and now lead 24-23 with 4:54 left to play. The go-ahead score came when Nick Foles hit tight end Zach Ertz for a three-yard score.

The touchdown came two plays after Saints cornerback Corey White was flagged for interfering with Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson at the foot of the New Orleans end zone. The play to Jackson was one of several throws that have gone his way since Lewis left the game as the Eagles have picked on White and Rod Sweeting relentlessly.

There’s plenty of time for the Saints to come back and put more points on the board. Given the way their secondary has played since Lewis’ injury, they’d be wise not to leave too much time on the clock if they do.

Eagles fans can’t blame tonight’s loss on Andy Reid can they?

Same old Eagles. Maybe it’s not the coach after all, eh?

Turned out great except for the injuries on defense. I said earlier in the week that the Saints have a run game if they ever choose to use it. I am glad for the win on the road and to advance in the playoffs. Go Saints!

Eagles blew this game in the 1st half when the saints were playing horribly. It was there for the taking and the eagles didn’t pounce on them.

Seriously? Reid’s team was considered one of the best in the league, started 9-0 and is sitting where? AT HOME!!! We won 4 games with him last year!!! 4 games!!! Yeah wasn’t his fault at all was it. 4-12 with Andy, 10-6 and a division championship without him. Yup, wasn’t his fault at all. I swear some of you have such twisted logic, then again I’m responding to people with IQs less than 100 so I shouldn’t be surprised.

It’s really entertaining to me to see how little some people actually know about football, after reading their “Heh heh heh guess it wasn’t Reid after all”. I was a HUGE Reid supporter, but a 4-12 team from last year won the NFC East and advanced to the playoffs with a 10-6 record this year, under a first year head coach. Please try to at least read volume 1 of “Football for Dummies” before coming onto this thread spouting your biased anti-Eagles garbage. We missed opportunities and the better team won today, congrats Saints. But the best is yet to come for the Birds.
