Heavy snowfall expected during Bengals-Chargers

Craig Clasen, Barbara Clasen AP

It might not be Green Bay cold, but it’s going to be frigid enough in Cincinnati, with the chance of a heavy snowstorm which could lend a layer of drama to tomorrow’s Bengals-Chargers game.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for Sunday, and predicts between 4 inches and 8 inches of snow in the Cincinnati area, according to Adam Kiefaber of the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Of course, it could be worse. It could be turkeys falling from the sky.

Sunday’s predicted high is 36 degrees, but temperatures are expected to fall below freezing around 3 p.m. (i.e. the third quarter), when the heaviest snowfall is expected to begin.

That could make for a some stunning visuals in the second half, but a real danger after the game, as a twisted-arm sell-out crowd tries to make its way out of downtown during a blizzard, and the Chargers try to fly back to California.

HAHAHAHAHA Phyllis Rivers will have her struggle face on. In other news, when my Broncos play next Sunday it will be a clear 40 degrees.

4-8 inches is a blizzard? That’s barely enough to miss work

Green Bay fans are on their article saying we should swap games. I think not. We have a better record, better seed, we already beat GB, and got the early game. They are from WI. They should be used to this. We are from Cincinnati where if it snows half an inch somehow people forget how to drive and stock up on groceries like the end of the world is coming. Just saying.

Bengal fans should not underestimate the ability of Rivers to play through tough conditions. Recall the Chargers losing effort against the Pats in a playoff game in which LT sat on the bench. The man who talked big left the field with a mystery injury while Rivers played on one leg the entire game. The loudmouths on that team all disappeared when things got tough but Rivers played on. Should be a memorable game for the Cinncy fans. Have fun in the snow.

I’m concerned with injuries for Eifert, Gresham, and AJ. Will it come down to Nugent for the win?

Feeling cool and clean, the best that you’ve ever been.

You’re surrounded by freshness and you’re in a position to win.

Actually nevermind you’re in a snow globe in a dollar store!

What time is the Viking game this weekend?

Rivers can play well in the cold. Gutty performance in the 2007 AFCCG hopping around one leg and minus his superstar running back at the time. Its just too bad they had to settle for 4 FG’s otherwise, the Chargers would have mopped the floor with the Giants that year.

  24. lionsmark09 says: Jan 4, 2014 12:06 PM

The Whiz will be close to Detroit so he can just fly there and stay. Fingers crossed.

Lmao, mystery injury. LT had a torn MCL, it is kind of difficult to play RB on a knee you can’t plant and cut on.

Anyway, Rivers showed guts, but he didn’t play well at all in that game. He is 9-2 in games below 40, but the AFC championship game is a poor example.

Oh man. Look at all the Charger fans talk about WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN. Get over it!! So your quarterback hopped around on one leg and LOST!!! Not much to brag about

  27. gsmith1031 says: Jan 4, 2014 12:24 PM

We welcome the Chargers to the Jungle!!! Ain’t the same environment it used to be.

San Diego Will Shock The NFL Just Like They Shocked Denver And Kansas City On The Road. Last I Checked, Cincinnati Hasn’t Won A Playoff Game In How Long? Win A Game In January Before You Call Your Home A Jungle. The Charger Are Not An Elite Team Yet But Neither Are Th Bengals. Stop Portraying It That Way. Bolt Up San Diego!

  33. natijim235 says: Jan 4, 2014 6:26 PM

hey gilmeza – name ‘the jungle’ carried over from Riverfront Stadium in 80′ the 1st super bowl year and carried over to Paul Brown stadium – you weren’t born yet so learn your history

  34. gilmeza says: Jan 4, 2014 7:20 PM

Hey Natijim or whatever your name is, you nailed it….it’s HISTORY. Then again, the last time your team won a playoff game was in 1990 so I can see why you like to cling on to your “who dey” days. No need to school me on history buddy, just stating that until you win a playoff games, you guys might as well be the same old Bungles that the rest of the NFL knows you aS. #23yearswithoutaplayoffwin

  35. cincijedi says: Jan 4, 2014 7:44 PM

I love all these bolts fans sayin how rivers has more experience than dalton so they think think they have the advantage. NEWS FLASH! the bengals are 8-0 at home this year, this game is in cinncinati, and the last time these two met in the playoffs bengals won. I think bengals have the edge. WHO DEY ALL THE WAY!!!

  36. gilmeza says: Jan 4, 2014 7:55 PM

  37. gilmeza says: Jan 5, 2014 4:34 PM

Looks like the “jungle” in Cincinnati couldn’t handle the lighting bolts! Looks like the Southern Cali team had no problem playing in coLd Weather
