Chargers finally start throwing, take 14-10 lead

You could call it patient, or old-fashioned, or archaic.

But the Chargers were committed to running in the playoffs, with Philip Rivers throwing six passes in the first half.

But they opened it up by their own standards, with Rivers completing six passes to open the second half, driving for a touchdown and a 14-10 lead.

Rivers is a clean 11-of-12 for 116 yards and a touchdown, which just went to Ladarius Green.

The Bengals aren’t getting the kind of pressure they need, especially with Chargers center Nick Hardwick out of the game with a “stinger.” They only have one sack on a first-half blitz, and haven’t been able to keep them from running efficiently.
