Terence Newman inactive for Bengals today

Even though he tried to practice Friday, Bengals cornerback Terence Newman obviously wasn’t ready to contribute today because of a knee problem.

Newman heads the list of inactives for the home team, as he’ll be replaced in the starting lineup by Dre Kirkpatrick. Newman was listed as doubtful on the injury report, so they’ve planned for this.

Also inactive for the Bengals are wide receiver Dane Sanzenbacher, running back Rex Burkhead, tackle Tanner Hawkinson, defensive tackle Ogemdi Nwagbuo, tight end Brock and wide receiver Ryan Whalen.

For the Chargers, wide receiver Eddie Royal is active, despite missing most of the practice this week with a toe injury.

They will be without nose tackle Sean Lissemore because of a shoulder problem.

Also inactive for the Chargers are safety Brandon Taylor, wide receiver Lavelle Hawkins, cornerback Marcus Cromartie, tackle Kenny Wiggins, guard Steve Schilling and quarterback Brad Sorensen.

It makes me want to puke in my mouth a little, but I’m pulling for the Chargers in this one.
