Wade Phillips lets Texans know he won’t be renewing his suite

Wade

Wade Phillips wanted to serve as the Texans’ head coach. He didn’t get the job.

After the job went to Bill O’Brien, he reportedly was interested in remaining as the defensive coordinator. It didn’t happen, with O’Brien reportedly choosing Romeo Crennel.

But the Texans apparently remained interested in having Phillips renew the suite he apparently had purchased for home games. Wade took to Twitter (@sonofbum) with his response.

“To Texan suite sales-I am sorry, but because of recent changes I will Not renew my purchase of a suite. Hope u understand. Wade Phillips”

The tweet comes two days after Wade tweeted thanks to Bob McNair and his wife, Janice, for how they treated Wade’s late father, former Oilers coach Bum Phillips.

Wade presumably won’t be out of work for very long. Any team that runs or wants to run a 3-4 defense should give him a call.

Or maybe it would be better to send him a tweet.
