Dowell Loggains interviewing with Giants for OC job

Tennessee Titans' new offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains talks with players during the first half of their NFL football game with the Houston Texans in Nashville, Tennessee Reuters

With former Titans head coach Mike Munchak interviewing for the Lions head coaching job, former Titans offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains has at least one option.

But he has other opportunities that aren’t tied to the guy who refused to offer him up as a ritual sacrifice as well.

According to Ed Werder of ESPN, Loggains will meet with the Giants Wednesday about their vacant coordinator post.

Loggains is also accompanying Munchak to Detroit, as they try to sell the Lions a package deal.

The Giants are also talking to former assistant Mike Sullivan about coming back to replace the retired Kevin Gilbride.

Does the Rooney Rule apply to coordinators as well?

Mike Sullivan did a horrible job with the Rangers power play. How would he do better with the Giants offense???

The Rooney Rule is a joke. It is degrading to qualified minority coaches. A team should not have to interview a minority or get fined. The interview is often times a big waste of time for a coach who knows he is not truly an option

How about interviewing an oc from a team with a winning record . Sometimes this Giants organization is so thick headed.

For the love of god don’t hire Sullivan as OC.. I don’t mind him but hes gilbride 2.0 if we just fired him for doing a bad job why would you hire someone whos his disciple pretty much.. not to mention just led his bucs to like 4-5 wins lol. that’s obv not the way to go.. position coach. yes. OC absolutely not.
