When word safety Jordan Pugh broke word that he was signing with the Saints, it left the question of whose roster spot he would wind up taking when he arrived in New Orleans.

The Saints have answered that question on Tuesday by announcing several roster moves. They confirmed the Pugh signing and announced that linebacker Parys Haralson is going on injured reserve and that safety Isa Abdul-Quddus has been released.

Haralson suffered a chest injury that the team believes is a torn pectoral in the victory over the Eagles during Wild Card weekend. Abdul-Quddus was a regular on the New Orleans special teams in 2013 and has played 42 games with the team over the last three seasons.

According to multiple reports from the Saints media corps, New Orleans will also be promoting linebacker Rufus Johnson from the practice squad. Johnson was a sixth-round pick in April and did not play any games with the team during the regular season.

There were high fives all around in the team PR department at not having to worry about spelling those names right again.

I’m not falling for this. Haralson is still faking to slow down the Philly offense. Keep booing Eagles fans!

    Victor Butler
    Kenyon Coleman
    Patrick Robinson
    Will Smith
    Jabari Greer
    Kenny Vaccaro
    Parys Haralson

-these are the contributing defensive starters put on IR this year for the Saints.
So I don’t want to hear crap from any other team about injuries being the reason they didn’t get to the playoffs.

It just keeps getting worse for the Saints defense. If Keenan Lewis does not play they are going to get filleted and baked by Wilson and the Seahawks.

    Add Vilma to that list…

Everbody want to be Pat Swilling these days, but they just don’t know who he was..

If I could only have 2 of those players on IR, I would take Greer and Haralson back.

Vaccaro is the one the Saints want back right now more than any of them…

True indeed Vaccaro can cover. I love Roman Harper for all he’s done, but he’s gonna be our demise just like he was in the playoff games against San Fran and Seattle. I’ve been saying for about 4 or 5 years we should’ve bulked 15-20 more pounds on him and made him a situational OLB and Safety in certain sets.

Kind of like what the Panthers did with Thomas Davis. He came into the league as a Safety and they converted him to LB earlier in his career. And besides the 3 ACL tears he has suffered, he’s been extrodinary for them.
