Bucs, Dolphins reportedly granted permission to interview Marc Ross

The Dolphins are set to begin their interviews for the general manager position on Friday and we may have learned one of the names on their initial interview list.

Tom Rock of Newsday reports that Miami has requested permission to interview Giants vice president of player evaluation Marc Ross for the job opening they created by parting ways with Jeff Ireland this week. The Giants have reportedly given Miami permission to talk to Ross, although there’s no word on when a conversation would take place.

Miami isn’t the only spot in Florida where Ross might wind up. Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports reports that the Buccaneers have also requested permission to speak to Ross and Rock adds that they have received it as well. He joins Falcons director of player personnel Lionel Vital and Chiefs director of player personnel Chris Ballard as reported candidates for the job.

Ross interviewed for several G.M. openings last offseason, including the job in Carolina that ultimately went to his former Giants colleague Dave Gettleman.
