Percy Harvin active, James Carpenter inactive for Seahawks

Percy Harvin will suit up for his second game as a member of the Seattle Seahawks.

Harvin, who has battled a hip ailment all season, is among the Seahawks’ active players for Saturday’s second-round game against New Orleans.

While Harvin is up, the Seahawks have placed guard James Carpenter on the inactive list for the first time this season. Carpenter started 10 games in 2013 but finished the campaign as a reserve.

Offensive tackle Caylin Hauptmann, defensive tackle Jordan Hill, defensive end Benson Mayowa, running back Christine Michael, wide receiver Bryan Walters and linebacker K.J. Wright are the Seahawks’ other inactives. Hill had been listed as doubtful, while Wright has previously been ruled out.

Harvin won’t make past the 1st Quarter.

One slip in the rain and it’s all over.

He should be on IR and let him get back to full strength in 2014.

If it gets the Seahawks to the superbowl, it will be worth it.

I was under the impression he wasn’t even needed…

Harvin just went into the locker room with the trainer after taking a hit with 10 minutes to go in the 1st Quarter.

    4 1/3 quarters of football, 1 catch, 1 kick return. $14.5 million.

I think if you knock someone out of a game with an illegal hit (concussion) then you get kicked out of the game too.

Otherwise, why wouldn’t every play produce a game ending injury?

15 yards for Harvin? Doesn’t sound like a fair deal.

Harvin out after cheap shot to the head. Saints still have and active bounty on him from 09.

Don’t get me wrong, when Percy is on the field he changes the game. Even the Lynch TD looked so easy because the Saints didn’t know what to do with Percy.

My issue with Harvin is that he is not on the field often, and he is one of the moodiest NFL players of this era.
