Broncos strike first against Chargers, as they’ve done twice before

Each of the two times the Broncos faced the Chargers during the 2013 regular season, Denver scored on their first drives of the game, via touchdown passes from Peyton Manning.

The Broncos have continued the trend in the postseason.

Manning found receiver Demaryius Thomas for a two-yard touchdown pass to cap a 14-play, 86-yard drive.  Per CBS, the seven-minute, one-second drive was Denver’s longest drive of the season.

The effort came after the Chargers punted after converting a pair of third downs (one aided by a face-mask penalty).  The Broncos converted a pair of third downs during its touchdown drive.

Manning completed six of eight passes for 68 yards, with four difference receivers catching passes.

Peyton has been fortunate with good weather. Really don’t care who wins at Pile High, both teams lose to the Patriots.

When manning wins this one, he and I both are expecting apologies from each and every one of you.

Peyton will actually have to play QB today and not hand it off 40+ times while his defense and running game take care of the game for him.

Neither team can beat NE so it doesn’t matter. I’m sure Peypey will put up some random meaningless stat though. And the media will drool all over it. Break a leg!

Broncos fans should be a bit more humble after last year’s pick in double OT.

And that’s because Peyton only wants to throw it. Numbers mean everything to him. Win or lose by the pass….

So many salty, insecure Pats fans here today. Thanks for the entertainment.

Notice he had it 1st and goal at the 3 ran it one time then checked to the pass.

And some how this guy is trying to take shot at Brady because they ran it in 5 times when they had it 1st and goal inside the 3.

That’s a hater for you, always an excuse

Yea, and Moreno just rushed for another first down inside the ten. Maybe Manning will just pass for another TD.

  12. keltictim says: Jan 12, 2014 5:38 PM

To somehow suggest that Brady is the one who designed the offensive game plan for the patriots yesterday just shows your ignorance. There’s a reason why Tom works so well with bill and that system, he does not care about his personal accomplishments, he cares about the team and how many rings they win. It still gives me chills when I watch the replay of the 2001 Super Bowl and the announced during introductions says “and for the first time ever by a team, The New England Patriots have elected to be introduced as a team” that statement right there says it all.

It’s funny when Broncos fans call Pats fans salty.

Why would they be? 3 SB, 8 AFC champ games in 12 years. And, they already beat the Broncos this year.

I’m not even a fan of either team.

  14. siknutty says: Jan 12, 2014 5:46 PM

    Patriots fans classy as always.

  15. smdy87 says: Jan 12, 2014 5:49 PM

Oh, you mean that year the patriots cheated? Gave me chills too.

  16. denverfandownsouth says: Jan 12, 2014 5:49 PM

And they haven’t won anything since they were busted for cheating. Coincidence?

  17. haterade999 says: Jan 12, 2014 5:51 PM

If you think the Pats are cheaters, you know very little about football. I’m not even a fan of the team, but name another team that was in the AFC Champ the last 3 years.

It wasn’t the Broncos, even the Ravens were in 3/5.

Get a grip Broncos fans, you’ll need it to hang on for 3 games.

Wrong, manning takes what the defense gives him.. If the defense is playing run why wouldnt he check to a pass play? Peyton is one of the best at reading the defense pre-snap. But I’m sure you know more than Peyton does so go right ahead and question his judgement.

And there you go 1 and goal from the 3 runs it 1 time then comes out of a time out a is all alone in shotgun 2 passes and INT
