Chargers keep making it interesting

The Broncos answered San Diego’s touchdown with a touchdown.  And the Chargers then responded with another touchdown.

An 80-yard drive capped by another touchdown pass from Philip Rivers to Keenan Allen has cut the lead to 24-14.

And for the second straight day a team trailing late has recovered an onside kick.  The Chargers have the ball, and they’re moving.

And they have enough time to score — and then to try another onside kick.

  1. I feel bad for Peyton. So many plays that went the other way.

Decker trips on his way to a TD
Pass hits off Deckers hands for INT
Welker drops a TD on 3rd down
6 out of his 10 incomplete passes were drops
    Thomas fumbles the ball
    Onside kick recovered…

I just don’t know what to say

    Peyton Manning is cursed

    3reply:
he has a super bowl title. and many passing records. millions of dollars in the bank, many league mvps.

    youre cursed.

  3. “Again, why do teams always wait till the 4th quarter to do something offensively?”

They have to wait for the opposing defensive geniuses to go into a prevent, cover scheme.

  4. The Steelers were pretty offensive in their first 4 games, which of course kept them out of the playoffs.

I was taking about the fact it looked like another collapse from a Manning lead team that wasn’t his fault. I actually like Peyton a lot, he’s my favorite active QB

  6. The Chargers offense was so bad, they made the Bronco’s defense actually look good.

    Ryan Mathews is a bust.

The Chargers remain ring less and hopeless.

    Choo choo!

  7. Whisenhunt made the same mistake with the Cards in the SB. He kept the shackles on Kurt Warner until late in the 3rd quarter. Once he turned Warner loose AZ was pretty much unstoppable. Looks like he hasn’t learned his lesson yet as he refused to try and push the ball down the field until too late today.

  8. Too little too late. Why Whisenhunt waited so long to open it up was a foolish and fatal mistake. I can’t believe that some organization is going to put him in charge. The crop of coaches that can navigate through a big game is mighty thin.

  9. Chargers continue to try to kill me.

Played 3 lousy quarters and then you make a game of it. I dont even want to think what they would have done if they played the way they did in the 4th the entire game.

Oh well, at least we got rid of Norv

  10. 3rd straight year New England and San Francisco have been in the conference finals and the league can talk all they want about parity, but there is none in the NFL. Parity does not exist when 2 teams one in each conference make the finals 3 straight years. Two boring matchups this year, followed by another lack luster boring super bowl game.

  11. Had this not been Peyton Manning, I would have thought no way could the Chargers come back….but I admit, I doubted Peyton near the end there, even though I wouldn’t have blamed the loss on him….

So by your logic it should be Jacksonville and Washington in the Super Bowl. You must be logicalvoicesays brother. But your right, no one wants SF- Seattle, or Denver-New England.

  13. As evidence of the stupidity of most sports fans, almost no one seems to know how to spell “you’re” for “you are” and “their” for the possessive form and “they’re” for “they are”.
So we should take heed of the points brought up by people who have the writing skills of a 10 year-old? Lol.

  14. If you want to win the game, no stupid 3rd down penalties (two on the same play!) and don’t give up a 3rd and 17 with the game on the line.

Oh, and show up before the 4th quarter.

  15. The Chargers will be keeping the AFC interesting too. We’ve got our franchise QB, and some good young players.

While we may be ring less, Joe, we’re far from hopeless. After all, we made it to the divisional doing with a first year coach and injury depleted team.

I’ve got enough hope and faith that I’ll definitely be renewing my season tickets. Do you have enough hope and faith to renew your raider tickets and do your part in the Oakland 2014 tarp removal campaign?

Like your franchise, you are a joke. All you do is hate on every other franchise while holding on to the past glories of 30 years ago of your franchise. Get over it uncle Rico, stop living in the past and downing everyone else. Man you are negative.
That said, i love what the Chargers are doing and how much they over achieved with the talent they had. It was nice to see Mathews, the so called bust, play a full 16 game schedule unlike other bust RB in our division not playing for KC or DEN.
We may be ringless, but not silver and black hopeless. That kind of hopelessness causes some to troll this site and put everyone down.
The bolts will get better and better for years to come. Sorry Joe, you are the only hopeless one here
