“Hundreds” of fans greet Saints in New Orleans

Very early Sunday morning, Twitter was abuzz with accounts of fans showing up after 1:00 a.m. CT to greet the Saints as they returned from a divisional-round loss to the Seahawks in Seattle.

The Saints have posted a gallery of photos at the team’s official website, and quarterback Drew Brees acknowledged the showing.

Greatest fans in the world,” Brees said on Twitter.  “The Who Dat Nation was waiting for us as we arrived back from Seattle.”

Via Kathleen Flynn of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, “hundreds” of Saints fans showed up to welcome the team.  Photos at include images of coach Sean Payton and defensive coordinator Rob Ryan extending a hand to fans as they drove by in their cars.

It was, all things considered, an unexpectedly strong season for the Saints, who overcame various types and kinds of adversity to make it to the final eight.  On Saturday, they also nearly overcame second-half deficits of 16-0 and 23-8 in one of the toughest places to play.

Saint’s fans show a lot of class. They’re the exact opposite of the Seattle fans.

Congrats, Saints for a good year and great fans!!!

Hundreds is pretty sad for us. Its usually thousands, win or lose.

But then the players noticed something odd… their cars had been stripped to the bone and the fans were jumping into waiting vans full of auto parts. Who dat? No… who is that.

Well my fellow saints fans we had a good year . We went from the worst defence ever to the top 5 losing most of our starters which we won’t get credit for and we improved to 11-5 after going 7-9 I think this off season we will become a lot stronger on both sides of the ball and we might even get the top seed next year so don’t worry guys . Give credit to us for fighting to win against Seattle in there home which is the same as us playing at home against somebody else . I think this is the prelude to a truly elite season . Who DAT !!!!!!!!

great game, glad it wasn’t a blowout.

last year after the hawks list to Atlanta there were hundreds of people to greet them home. I’m sure it’s the same anywhere for any team. don’t know why this is worthy of even being written…

I’m even more confused why I read it…

We don’t just greet them during the playoffs. We greet them after EVERY game, win or lose. And we have been doing it for years. Your post was good until the last part.
But congrats to the Seahawks. Hope they go all the way.

thatfan: Nobody cares about the Seahawks. Even if you win the Superbowl no one will care!
