Tests confirm Chris Harris suffered torn ACL

The Broncos’ worst fears were realized.

According to Lindsay Jones of USA Today, tests confirmed that cornerback Chris Harris did suffer a torn ACL in yesterday’s win over the Chargers.

Harris has been a consistent cover player, and with Champ Bailey a shell of himself and Quentin Jammer also showing his age, the Broncos are going to be extremely thin in the secondary this weekend.

The Patriots have been leaning on their run game lately, but they’d be wise to spread the Broncos out, and make them defend with nickel packages anyway, as the Broncos are running out of viable options.

Great so on Sunday evening, we’ll have caseyanthonymunoz post that “Manning is 10-12 in the postseason”

Quentin Jammer on Edeltron. This should be fun.

Call Antoine Winfield. Who else might be available?

Tough loss for the Broncos secondary.

Now if only MegaHead would pop his achilles this week in practice…

C’mon Derek Wolfe, we need you now more than ever

So what you’re saying is the Broncos are as thin at DB as the Patriots are at WR??

    I’d call that a wash.

Major loss for us: his absence is the only reason the Chargers were able to get back into the game. Jammer was a joke in coverage when he came in to fill in.

Hopefully this means Tony Carter’s playing time increases significantly. I have no clue why he’s been barely seeing the field of late, when he might be our third best corner behind DRC and Harris. Him and Harris stepping up last season in place of Tracey Porter was a big reason why the defense was so good last year.

    Best news all day.

Well we still have kayvon webster and tony carter. DRC and Champ can handle man to man matchups. Last time the broncos played the patriots they were without champ bailey and DRC (for the entire 2nd half and OT)

I have no doubt that jammer can do well against a teams #3 or 4 WR, but why he was matched up on San diegos #1 receiver is beyond me. Pretty sure that mistake wont be made again.

Sorry to hear that. Hate seeing anyone go down with this kind of injury, or any longterm injury. Even current arch-rival’s teammates.

Hopefully he’s able to get back to fully fit. It’s pretty awesome how well athletes are able to come back from something as damaging as an ACL tear. Medical procedures really can work wonders these days.

Sorry for Harris, but looking forward to watching TB clown Jammer.

Because he sucks. He’s a walking, talking Pass Interference Machine. If the Broncos had a decent pass rush, he’d be OK to have on the field for a few drives, but eventually Brady will target him repeatedly.

Well, the Pats had to overcome injuries this year. I am confident that the Broncos can do the same and overcome Harris’ injuries.

Who am I kidding. The way Jammer looked yesterday, it wouldn’t surprise me if Brady throws the ball in his direction 50 times and completed 40 of those throws.

Won’t matter. Denver can’t stop the three headed monster of Blount/vareen/riddle. Gonna be a long night for Denver as much as I hate to say it. Brady is going to win a SB this year.

Time for Kayvon Webster to shine.. Go get um kid!

  19. lanman11 says: Jan 13, 2014 2:00 PM

Fortunately for Denver the Patriots don’t have 4 wide receivers to spread them out and have no pass catching tight ends. No worries. The greatest team of all time has this one in the bag! Why even kick it off?

Thumbs up if you think AFC wins Super Bowl. Thumbs down for NFC winning. I really don’t know. Much of it depends if Harvin plays or not.

  21. johninthewest says: Jan 13, 2014 4:39 PM

No way Jammer covers Edelman. Sorry Pats fans.

  22. winstonjed44 says: Jan 13, 2014 5:08 PM

So their options are now to use Quentin Jammer, who is old, slow, makes a ton of mistakes and can’t seem to turn his hips (NE torched Den after Jammer came in for Harris in the reg season, then SD did the same thing) or Champ Bailey who hasn’t played much this season, probably doesn’t have great conditioning and is also old and past his prime. I guess it’s fitting that they’re are playing the Pats, who’s defense is also decimated.

  23. sidepull says: Jan 13, 2014 5:31 PM

No sense in using injuries as a built in excuse. It sucks but the Pats have been patchwork with devastating losses all year. Denver has lost Miller and now this loss is really awful. This is part of the end of the season and they all have to show up and field a team, strap it up and play. Depth coaching and grit will send the winner to the Superbowl. May the best team win. Cant wait for this game!

Terrible news for him and them. Love watching that guy play.

This game is over, folks. The Pats will romp now.
