Will Tukuafu having MRI, Harbaugh “encouraged” with fullback’s movement

The 49ers saw fullback Will Tukuafu leave Sunday’s 23-10 victory over the Panthers after just a handful of snaps because of a left knee injury he suffered after catching a pass from Colin Kaepernick.

The injury looked bad when it happened, but Tukuafu was able to walk off the field with medical personnel a short time later. He didn’t return to the game, however, and is having an MRI Monday to assess the extent of the damage. Coach Jim Harbaugh had no update on his condition when he met the media, but did offer an optimistic observation.

“[I’m] encouraged with how he’s moving around,” Harbaugh said, via CSNBayArea.com.

The 49ers re-signed Tukuafu when they placed fullback Bruce Miller on injured reserve near the end of the regular season, so they may have to turn to Anthony Dixon and tight end Vance McDonald, who filled in against Carolina, again next weekend if Tukuafu doesn’t play.

“I’m encouraged we’ll give him the right PED’s to get him back out there.”

Saw the play, and cringed as soon it happened. It wasn’t a horse collar, but it might as well have been. Dude was intentionally trying to hurt him.

I’m not even going to mention the fact a Seahawks fan made a PED reference to a 49ers player. Not even going to acknowledge that.

You’re not going to want to acknowledge this beatdown frisco is about to get either.

You should also acknowledge the fact that the most recent game played between the 2 was a Seaderall loss.

I’m glad Seattle lost by 2 points in frisco. It gives them something to think about. A puzzle to solve. It keeps them from being complacent when the game really counts. And this game isn’t in Candlestick, as you well know, it’s in that noise factory CenturyLink. If you think that the Seahawks are sleeping on you, think again.

So in 30 years of existence the Sea hawks have a re Ord for the loudest stadium that really isn’t even from the fans and
your most popular jersey is a #12….Dynasty…lol

Talk is cheap. Thats why it’s 5-0 in Super Bowls between the two and only one of the two has made it to this round in each of the last two years (hint its the team with the 5 titles). The talkers have a lot to prove yet. I would be very careful Hawks fans. Its hard to run your mouth if your foot is in it and nobody runs their mouths like you guys.

Do they give out pocket protectors at the begging of the Sea hawks games? Cause instead of wild crazy fans I saw a bunch of dorks in #12 jerseys last game I went to..

Jim is encouraged with Tukuafu’s movements. “Clear, firm, and of consistent color”, said the coach. “You wouldn’t expect that from a guy with his name. Who knows what the hell they eat….”.

Looking forward to the Hawks-Niners matchup. I’m rooting for my Hawks, but I do hope Tukuafu is able to play.

Reality check for chokerneck when he comes up here. The only way sf wins is if seahawks offense doesn’t put up normal number. Doesn’t have to be huge, our D will sack and rush Kap into bad throws all day

  13. russellwilsonismymvp says: Jan 13, 2014 7:45 PM

The only pocket protection you need to worry about is Kaepernick’s. Because Seattle’s front four are going to be putting him on his back like norcalmafia on a frisco Saturday night.

So…We have a irrelevant team from a city that the rest of the US literally forgets even exists…A team who’s biggest call to glory is beating the Niners in the regular season..A city that has consistently been voted one of America’s worst sports towns and a team who has never been more popular than 28th until this year but according to them they are an empire not to be messed with…?
Seattle you are little sister..No one cares about your team or you boring miserable city..Accept your role in the Shadow Lil sister….Now hurry up Sea hawk fans Big 5 is having a sale better go get all your spring time clothing..Accept flannel and hiking boots…lol

I wonder if all the 12th man trolls will post to this site after they loose…….I’m guessing its going to be very quiet around these parts.

  18. kkalama1 says: Jan 13, 2014 9:35 PM

I think you meant lose, like “lose the game” not loose “like Harbaugh pants are to tight they need to be more loose, it makes him talk funny”
