Browns letting Ray Horton interview for anything

In yet another indication the Browns may know which way they’re leaning, they’re apparently opening the door for existing assistants to leave.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Browns are granting permission for defensive coordinator Ray Horton to interview for other jobs, even if they’re lateral moves.

Coupled with Cardinals defensive coordinator Todd Bowles taking his name out of the running for the head coaching job he interviewed for, it creates the appearance that the Browns are close to a decision, or at least close enough to know who they don’t want to keep around.

With several teams still looking, Horton should be a hot commodity as an assistant, and shouldn’t be out of work long if they don’t want to keep him, and makes sense in Tennessee, where his old Arizona boss Ken Whisenhunt just landed.
