Patriots quarterback Tom Brady missed the start of practice. And the middle of practice. And the end of practice.

Yes, Brady didn’t practice at all, per multiple reports coming from multiple players who risked the Wrath of Belichick by saying anything more about Brady than “day-to-day.”

Backup Ryan Mallett, the only other quarterback on the roster or practice squad, took the snaps with the Patriots offense and also did the scout-team “Omaha” thing, pretending to be Peyton Manning.

Multiple reports indicate that Brady will start on Sunday, despite his absence from practice. We’ll know the specific reason for his absence when the Patriots release their initial injury report.
