Titans get permission to interview Chargers assistant for OC

2013-Michael-Jason

Ken Whisenhunt’s going to be calling his own plays as the Titans head coach, but he apparently wants to bring one of his old assistants as his offensive coordinator.

According to Michael Gehlken of U-T San Diego, the Titans received permission from the Chargers to interview tight ends coach Jason Michael for the coordinator job.

Michael has coached tight ends for the Chargers since 2011, and has also worked for the Jets, 49ers and Raiders.

The Titans are also holding onto a few more of the old staff. According to Alex Marvez of FOX Sports, they’re also hanging onto special teams coaches Nate Kaczor and Steve Hoffman and secondary coach Steve Brown. We noted earlier they were also keeping wide receivers coach Shawn Jefferson and running backs coach Sylvester Croom.
