Colts sign Lance Louis to reserve/future contract


The Colts have added an offensive lineman with starting experience to their offseason roster.

The club announced Wednesday it had signed offensive guard Lance Louis to a reserve/future contract.

Louis, 28, started 28 games in four seasons with Chicago (2009-2012). He signed with the Dolphins last March, but Miami released him in August.

Louis’ Chicago career ended when he suffered a torn left anterior cruciate ligament in November 2012. Now more than a year removed from the injury, Louis could compete for a roster spot with Indianapolis if he’s in top form. He started the majority of the Bears’ 2012 regular-season games at right guard.

    Its gotta feel good as a GM to sign a guy for the veteran minumum and he ends up being a good complimentary player.

    Especially when you still feel a pit in your stomach from the first round bust who sits at the bottom of the depth chart, watching the game from home because he’s inactive for the game – not really caring because he’s still owed 7 million in guaranteed money.

    Not pointing to anyone in particular, but I’d probably be a terrible GM, so It would feel nice to make a move that didn’t blow up in my face for once.

    This is a good signing. Great run blocking interior lineman. They need to do something about their LT Constanzo though. He can’t protect Luck.
