A former member of the Redskins’ coaching staff is reportedly heading back for another stint with Washington.
According to Seth Emerson of the Macon Telegraph, the Redskins are adding University of Georgia inside linebackers coach Kirk Olivadotti to their coaching staff.
Olivadotti coached linebackers in his final four seasons in Washington (2007-2010). He had spent the last three seasons as a Bulldogs assistant.
In Washington, Olivadotti could work again with Jim Haslett, who remains on staff as the defensive coordinator. Olivadotti also worked on the same coaching staff with now-Bengals coach Marvin Lewis in Washington in 2002. New Redskins coach Jay Gruden was Lewis’ offensive coordinator from 2011 through 2013 before joining Washington last week. Also, Jay Gruden’s brother, Jon Gruden, was the Eagles’ offensive coordinator for three seasons (1995-1997) on Ray Rhodes’ coaching staff. Rhodes was the Redskins’ defensive coordinator in 2000 when Olivadotti joined Washington’s coaching staff as a defensive quality control coach.
