More bizarre behavior from Davone Bess

Bess Reuters

In what has become a fairly rapid downward spiral, Browns receiver Davone Bess has been involved in yet another incident.

According to Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald, police in Coral Springs responded on Saturday morning to an incident involving Bess at the Marriott in Heron Bay.  Police described it as a “medical call,” with no arrest made.

Also on Saturday morning, Bess tweeted a photo of himself standing naked in front of a mirror.

Saturday’s events follow a Friday arrest of Bess for assault of a police officer, and the posting of photos on social media suggesting marijuana use.  News also has emerged that Bess was hospitalized against his will by family members in March 2013.

It’s becoming more and more obvious that Bess needs help of some kind.  We hope he gets it.

Bess must be desperate to get traded to minnysoda where this type of behavior is commonplace.

  4. dontasemebro says: Jan 18, 2014 10:19 PM

The man needs a straight jacket at this point.

  5. kevindunn21 says: Jan 18, 2014 10:20 PM

Where is the NFL/NFLPA to step in at this point? How has it not happened already?

BET….. He dropped the phone numerous times while attempting this “selfie”…. But seriously, get some help…

The things players do to get released by the Browns.

  8. realnflmaster says: Jan 18, 2014 10:23 PM

Playing for the Browns will do that to you.

  9. jakeblues68 says: Jan 18, 2014 10:24 PM

Where are the Jets? Why aren’t they helping him? This man is quite obviously sick.

  10. tjacks7 says: Jan 18, 2014 10:24 PM

It’s likely he was still severely hungover the morning he tweeted a naked photo of himself. He probably thought he was sending a sext. It happens to the best of us, Davone.

  11. jakeblues68 says: Jan 18, 2014 10:25 PM

And by Jets, I mean the Browns.

It’s awesome how some people will watch and laugh as another human melts down drifts toward the abyss just because that person is employed by a football team that displeases them.

And they never realize how much more their comment says about them than it does about the human being they are mocking.

Keep up the good work stooges.

  17. orivar says: Jan 18, 2014 10:46 PM

Either he’s trying to get released by the Browns or he is in a downward spiral and really needs help. I think it’s the latter and not the former. Somebody needs to stand up, don’t let him being another Titus Young.

Or it’s a reflection of the frustration others feel when someone is given an amazing opportunity and they waste it away like a fool. Stop all the sympathetic crap. This guy had fans, tons of money, and is young and healthy. Quit wasting sympathy on such morons who throw it all away. Feel sorry for real tragic cases. Try reading the news and you’ll find real people to feel sorry about.

  19. passthepigskin says: Jan 18, 2014 10:48 PM

With all the complaining the NFLPA does about stuff the league should do.
why not step in and help the guy now ( he obviously needs it ) rather than blame the Browns and League later????????

  20. oldcracker says: Jan 18, 2014 10:49 PM

I thought that years ago, the Browns started something called “Inner Circle” to deal with troubled players.

It was probably with the “old Browns” though, they had more class.

No you meant the Jets. Pretty sure they will spend no time signing him.

Small joke on the Jets. But I am not kicking a man when he’s down. I hope he gets so help before a McNair type situation happens.

Now I hope he gets help. This guy can’t play football right now.

Maybe Dan Lebatard might be correct about a player he’s interviewed when he was a Dolphin. The effects that a slot WR like him has to take while going across the middle.

He needs help. Watched my daughter in law go down with similar irrational behavior. Refused help and has disappeared leaving my wife and me to raise her kids. My son was headed down the same route but with help getting better. So there is hope for him.

Dude signed a new extension this past April and was paid $2.6 M this season. do you really think anyone quits that salary by acting silly? absurd. He could criticize the management for its QB hand coach handling, and ownership’s legal issues.

He needs assistance. Extend a hand to him.

  51. settler26 says: Jan 19, 2014 9:52 AM

What exactly is Jim Brown getting paid to do again?…

  52. tictoccpthook says: Jan 19, 2014 12:16 PM

Let’s get this guy some help, as you suggest, before it’s too late. We’ve seen too many good players decline swiftly . They deserve our interest in their welfare.

  53. jobber33 says: Jan 19, 2014 2:42 PM

It’s not the job of the NFL to get this guy help, MAYBE the union but not the NFL. They are his employer not his agent or family.
