Broncos get on the board, lead 3-0 after one quarter

The Broncos wanted a flag on Patriots safety Devin McCourty on an incomplete pass to tight end Julius Thomas in the end zone, but they had to settle for three points.

McCourty’s aggressive defense went unpenalized and Chandler Jones‘ pass rush helped Peyton Manning fire high on third down to force the Broncos into a field goal try that Matt Prater hit for a first down. Manning hit Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker for big plays on the drive and has opened the game 8-of-12 for 111 yards.

A flag that did get called might have cost the Patriots at least three points of their own. Tight end Michael Hoomanawanui was flagged for offensive pass interference on an eight-yard completion to Austin Collie that would have left the Patriots with fourth-and-two on the Broncos’ 25-yard line, but their decision about going for it was moot because of the flag.

The Patriots wound up punting and the Broncos hold onto their early lead. Cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie was shaken up on the Patriots’ drive and New England cornerback Aqib Talib also needed medical attention early in the second quarter.

Broncos have run pic plays 3-4 times with no flag but Pats flagged as they move into scoring range. Looked like one was Welker taking a shot at Talib. The Manning pick play from Indy is on display.

What is amazing about the Broncos is their depth at wide receiver.

Andy Dalton’s rookie year #3 wide receiver (andre caldwell) can’t even get on the field.

With Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos andre caldwell averaged 2 yards per game in 2012 and 12 yards per game this season.

Not a fan of either team but that was clearly and illegal pass play talib was hurt on. Most obvious pick play and he basically blind sided someone leg . Seattle gets called out for contact and riding hips as cheaters yet pick plays which are actually dangerous at times are run by Denver AND NE and they aren’t mentioned as cheaters .

Keep the cheating comments consistent . Seattle does a lot of illegal touching but rarely so they just push players around without penalties , the reason the refs don’t throw flags all game is because its not more much than wrs pushing off and putting hands on the defenders . It would b tack to throw that flag against Seattle and not as often to the offensive team pushing off .

Non the less Pick plays are illegal and they need to be called. it Affect games more than a little contact not calling them dirty it is a scheme but it’s inexcusable .

When are the refs going to start calling the blatant holding on the Denver o-line?

The blatant pick plays need to be called on Denver too.

Denver is good enough that they shouldn’t need the refs jobbing NE.

Yeah its usually Baby Brady who gets all the calls!

The funny thing about all the new england patriots fans CRYING about receiver picks is the fact that the guy who is doing the picking is a player who played and set picks in new england for SIX SEASONS.

Why do the Denver fans yell “we want cheese” after plays?

I feel bad for Manning, the teams good but their fans are atrocious hillbillys.
