Multiple fines not a good sign for Hakeem Nicks’ to return

Hakeem Nicks AP

Skipping offseason workouts apparently wasn’t the only time Hakeem Nicks was late last season.

According to the NFL Network, via the New York Daily News, the Giants fined the wide receiver “multiple times” for being late and missing treatments while he was injured.

Nicks has said he wants to return to the Giants, but that seems less and likely the more time passes.

With wide receivers Rueben Randle and Jerrel Jernigan in the wings, the Giants don’t appear inclined to give Nicks the kind of deal he was looking for while boycotting last offseason.

And with the team implementing a new offensive system, with a stated goal to get on the same page, that makes it look like Nicks will be looking elsewhere for that contract.

He has his rings, now time to go for a big paycheck.

Except for Mega and a few others, WR is the easiest position in the NFl to replace. Someone should let the young men that play WR in on that. New crop rolling out of college every year now, and guys from the mid and late rounds getting it done all the time. See ya Hakeem. Next !

If he returns it will have to be a 1 or 2 year deal on the cheap.

Here’s your chance Panthers! Get him this off season while he is reasonably cheap… Draft a wr in round 1 and now Cam has some weapons to go with 89 and Olsen.

He’s been weird all year … and underperformed. Way to nail your contract year Hakeem.

Fast + Big Hands = good wide receiver. No special talents required.

Giants cant possibly pay him #1 wr money after last season….they probably couldn’t have even if had had a great year. They need to pay beason and hopefully linval joseph, not to mention 1 or 2 FA o-lineman. They have a decent amount of cap space, but not enough to pay nicks what he’ll be looking for.

    Dez > Cruz+Nicks

The folks at pro football focus provide little recommendation to him. Even if he was rehab it sure looks like a wasted season for Hakeem Nicks

What the giants really need is a new qb. After his horrendous play last year it is unfathomable how he still has his job… I guess it pays to be a Manning…

If there’s a WR that’s going to get a big payday on the free agency market, it’s Larry Fitzgerald. Not Hakeem.
