Report: Ravens interview Scott Linehan

The Ravens have reportedly interviewed a former NFL head coach for their offensive coordinator role.

According to Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun, the Ravens met with former Lions offensive coordinator Scott Linehan on Monday.

Linehan oversaw the Lions’ offense the last five seasons after coaching the Rams for 36 games from 2006 through 2008. He also had stints as an offensive coordinator with the Vikings (2002-2004) and Dolphins (2005).

The Lions relieved Linehan of his duties on December 30, the same day they fired head coach Jim Schwartz.

Ravens offensive coordinator Jim Caldwell became the Lions’ head coach last week.

That would be a good hire, even if another re-tread who seems to get shuffled around the league in lieu of new guys getting a shot. He’s not terribly innovative, but if you give him decent players, he’ll coach them to play well.

Unless he’s bringing Calvin Johnson along the Ravens should keep looking. His resume is all domes and warm weather.

I’m sorry, but as a Ram fan, I wouldn’t hire Linehan to be the water boy.

As Wayne (from waynes world) once said… “Oh Jesus god, no! I thought we wanted to get better, not hire another mediocre offensive guy like Cam Cameron, Billick or Matt Cavanaugh! Anyone with half a brain who can make in game adjustments is fine with me. I’ll take baby Shanahan over this clod.

He couldn’t succeed with Stafford, CJ, Bush, Bell and Burleson.

Get ready the fake draw play every down.
