Bears cornerback Tim Jennings is headed back to the Pro Bowl.

According to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, Jennings has been added to the Pro Bowl roster.

For the 29-year-old Jennings, it’s another nice piece of news to start the offseason. The Bears re-signed Jennings for four years on January 2.

In four seasons with Chicago, Jennings has started 58 regular-season games and intercepted 16 passes. He spent the first four seasons of his NFL career with Indianapolis (2006-2009).

Jennings’ first Pro Bowl appearance came last January, when he was selected to the NFC team after intercepting a career-high nine passes.

UPDATE 4:19 p.m. ET: The Bears have confirmed Jennings will be going to the Pro Bowl. He takes the place of Seattle’s Richard Sherman.

Wouldn’t 4 FULL regular seasons be 64 games?

Bears fan here and while it’s debatable that ANYONE from that pathetic Bears D belongs in Hawaii, Jennings is the guy who comes closest. And since I assume he is going in place of a Seahawks CB, that’s a huge upgrade in character and class regardless.

Well-deserved, as he was one of the few guys on the Bears ‘D’ who didn’t reek this year.

Yes…yes it would be 64 games. Still doesn’t take away the fact that he Started 58 of them, which is all Mike is telling us….

One of the only bright spots on the Bears D this past season. Congrats TJ enjoy the trip!

He doesn’t want to be a villain.

Tim Jennings is a warrior, hard work pays off .

Good for TJ. He’s really put in work this year.

    Awesome for the Bears.

They resigned him before he added another ProBowl appearance. Signing him after would have upped his asking price.

I’m surprised he got enough votes to even be a reserve.

Not saying anything against him personally, but usually when a defense as a whole plays really bad, any individuals who played well don’t get much praise and recognition

Sherman is an idiot to talk like that on national television just shows his fantasy world he lives in. If he was the best in the league like he thinks he wouldn’t be in Seattle.
