There could be a market for Mark Sanchez when Jets cut him

It’s a widely held opinion that the Jets cutting quarterback Mark Sanchez is inevitable.

The surprising part is that there might be some degree of demand for his services.

A coach of a team with a vacancy at the position told Brian Costello of the New York Post that Sanchez was a good option.

We’d take Sanchez,” he said. “He’d be the starter as soon as he walked in the door for us.”

(And that doesn’t even count the Browns, who don’t have a coach, so it can’t be them.)

At the moment, Sanchez is rehabbing his surgically repaired right shoulder, which he injured in the preseason. He’d need to prove himself well before any deal, but he’s done enough things (including four playoff wins, all on the road) to make someone give him a chance.

Especially in a free agent market highlighted by quarterbacks such as Michael Vick and Josh McCown and Josh Freeman, Sanchez could actually have several options.
