Agent: Police report regarding Charles Godfrey’s stolen watches is false

Godfrey

The story that someone stole $125,000 worth of watches from Panthers safety Charles Godfrey is compelling. It would be even more compelling if it were, you know, true.

Agent Doug Hendrickson tells PFT that no one has stolen anything from Godfrey, and that the police report was made by someone claiming to be Godfrey.

Hendrickson said that Godfrey already has met with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police in an effort to rectify the situation.

The Charlotte Observer obtained the police report, which claimed that a package with a pair of expensive watches had been delivered to Godfrey’s home, but that Godfrey never received them.

A third-round pick in 2008, Godfrey suffered a torn Achilles tendon in Week Two of the 2013 season.
