Officially questionable (for now), Moreno says he’ll play

The Broncos have issued their final injury report for the Super Bowl bye week, and one of the team’s key offensive players currently is a 50-50 proposition to play.

Running back Knowshon Moreno has been a limited participant in practice all week, with injured ribs.  He’s listed as questionable, but Moreno has a much higher degree of optimism.

“I feel good,” Moreno told reporters.  “It is what it is.  You have to just stay on top of it.  For a lot of people, not a lot of injuries would keep you out of a game like this.”

Also questionable at this juncture are kicker Matt Prater (illness) and defensive tackle Mitch Unrein (knee).  Defensive tackle Sione Fua is doubtful with a calf injury.

Probable for Super Bowl XLVIII are cornerback Tony Carter (shoulder), tight end Joel Dreessen (knee), tackle Terrance Knighton (knee), guard Chris Kuper (ankle), quarterback Peyton Manning (ankle), and cornerback Kayvon Webster (thumb).

The practice reports will resume on Wednesday, with a final report next Friday attaching the official pre-Super Bowl availability label.

This is something not a lot of people are talking about. It is absolutely huge if Moreno can’t play. People think Peyton can carry Denver to a victory by himself, which is not true at all. If Moreno is out against the #1 defense in the league, Seattle just boosted their chances greatly.

The only one missing that truly matters is Von Miller. I’ve hated the Broncos my entire life, but you can’t deny the guy is a fantastic player.

I don’t understand why you guys are reporting these injuries with a week left till the Super Bowl, there’s nothing to worry about…

There’s no way Moreno misses this game. He is going to abuse Seattle.

Knowshon’s developed into a tough dude over the past year and a half. No way he sits this one out. He’ll play.

Silly. Of course he’ll play. He may never get back to the big game again, and even if he has broken ribs, he’ll wear a flak jacket.

Moreno truly matters to the broncos. They wouldn’t be where they are without him. Story of redemption. Start of last year, people were calling him a bust. Now he might be a significant piece to a SBwinning team

They will all be there. Moreno out of the backfield, Dreesen crossing from the left, Welker from the right, DT going long oppositeDecker and Sherman…. eating an orange with that huge, banana eating mouth saying “what happened?”

Moreno is no threat. The Pats held him to 59 yards. Ball only got 43, Green 6, Manning -1.
Seatlle held SF running backs to 31 total yards. Hunter 16, Gore 14, Dixon 1, James 0.
Kaepernick ripped us for 130. He’s a QB that can run. Manning is not.
When your receivers are covered by the best secondary in the NFL and nobody is open, what are you going to do? Manning can’t run.

I was so mad when McDaniels drafted him, but he has proved me wrong and is a great player now. He will play and the Seahawks will have their hands full. Seattle is a different team when they aren’t at home and in the cold (not as bad as the Saints, but still) and people forget that fact. It will not be a blow out for the Broncos, but we will prevail!
