The Giants appear to have completed the overhaul of their offensive coaching staff by hiring a coach with a unique connection to former offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride.

Lindsay Schell of Sports Illustrated was the first to report that the Giants have offered their quarterbacks coach job to Oregon State offensive coordinator Danny Langsdorf and several outlets have since reported that the team is set to announce Langsdorf’s hiring. Langsdorf joins offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo and running backs coach Craig Johnson as new hires with the Giants.

Langsdorf has been with Oregon State since 2005 and has three years of NFL coaching assistant with the Saints. In May 2007, Langsdorf donated a kidney to Laurie Cavanuagh, who is both the wife of Oregon State offensive line coach Mike Cavanaugh and Gilbride’s sister. Kevin M. Gilbride, her nephew, is currently the Giants’ wide receivers coach.

Sean Ryan has been the quarterbacks coach for the last two seasons and is expected to be reassigned to a new role. Jordan Raanan of NJ.com reports that Ryan could be moving to work with the team’s tight ends, but the team has not made any announcement.
