Adrian Peterson: Norv Turner the “perfect guy” to get us on right path

Vikings running back Adrian Peterson said Monday that he is “actually feeling pretty good” just a few days after having groin surgery and you can say the same about his thoughts on the team’s decision to hire Norv Turner as their offensive coordinator.

Peterson said Turner has “a brilliant mind, obviously” and that he’s particularly excited to see what that mind comes up with in the passing game.

“I’ll tell you, our pass offense has really struggled in the past couple years,” Peterson said, via Tom Pelissero of USA Today. “I think [Turner] is going to be the perfect guy to come in and get us on the right path.”

The struggles of the Vikings passing offense have existed for most of Peterson’s time with the team. They’ve ranked in the top half of the league in passing yards just once in Peterson’s seven years with the team, leaving a lot of room for Turner to improve the passing game. Finding the right answer at quarterback would be a good way to start Turner on the road to achieving that goal.
