There was a new dusting of snow in the area overnight and the air remains frigid, but the Broncos are still planning to be outside for Wednesday’s padded practice ahead of Super Bowl XLVIII.

That was the word from coach John Fox at his Wednesday morning press conference in Jersey City. Fox said upon arrival in New Jersey that he wanted his team to practice outside this week as much as possible and stressed at Tuesday’s Media Day that he believes his team is “weatherproof.”

“We get paid to adjust. We play football. We play football in a lot of different elements,” Fox said. “We play in venues like this indoors. We play it outside in snow. You name it; we do it. So I don’t know that there is such thing that there is an ideal temperature, but we’re ready to deal with anything. I think we’re weatherproof.”

Fox also said this week that he would prefer to be practicing on natural grass, but the team will be on FieldTurf at the Jets’ facility that they’re using for practices this week.
