Perhaps no player in the league has mastered the art of screwing up then falling up quite like Jeremy Mincey this year.

The Jaguars deactivated him for two weeks for repeated lateness, then cut him when he missed a Friday meeting a few weeks later.

His reward was signing with the Broncos, and a trip to the Super Bowl.

I didn’t think I’d be here this year, but I’m here now,” Mincey said, via Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times-Union. “I’m just enjoying the moment. It’s a blessing.”

He had no dirty laundry to air against the Jaguars, however, admitting “I was lacking a little focus.”

“I’ll never [say anything bad] about Coach Gus [Bradley],” he said. “He’s a great person and a great coach who stood by his philosophy. He made a decision, and I had to live with it.”

And now, he’s living the dream, filling in for a team in the Super Bowl which was willing to give him a chance to be on time.
