A 10 percent chance of precipitation and a temperature of 40 degrees are forecast for 6 p.m. Sunday evening in East Rutherford, New Jersey, according to WeatherUnderground.com. Winds of nine mph out of the west/northwest are expected, as are overcast skies as the Broncos and Seahawks prepare to play for the title.

According to the National Weather Service, a “wintry mix” is possible on Saturday night and Sunday morning, but “not much” precipitation is currently forecast.

The Super Bowl is slated to kickoff at 6:30 p.m. Eastern at MetLife Stadium, which is located a little more than 10 miles outside of New York City.

So what happens if there is “wintry mix” during the game, the temp drops, and the parking lot becomes a sheet of ice? Do they have a plan to provide shelter for 60,000+ people overnight?
