While precipitation can’t be completely ruled out for Super Bowl XLVIII in East Rutherford, New Jersey, the most recent forecast suggests it is not likely.

As of Thursday night, the National Weather Service forecasts a “slight chance” for precipitation on Sunday afternoon and evening for the New York area. By the weather service’s definition, “slight chance” equates to 20 percent.

WeatherUnderground.com, for its part, forecasts a zero percent chance of precipitation, eight mph winds and temperature of 44 degrees for 6 p.m. Eastern on Sunday night in East Rutherford, location of MetLife Stadium, which will host Sunday’s game between the Seahawks and Broncos.

The National Weather Service says a “very brief period of rain showers” is possible in the New York area on Sunday morning.

Game time is 6:30 p.m. Eastern.
