Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul realized it was going to take time to get back to being himself.
But at least it won’t take surgery.
Pierre-Paul told Conor Orr of the Newark Star-Ledger that he recently visited with Dr. James Andrews, and that no surgery was recommended on the shoulder that bothered him all season.
He’s going to follow up again with Andrews in six weeks, but the fact he won’t need a procedure is a good sign. He also said his back was around 95 percent, and that he was fully lifting.
Getting Pierre-Paul back to himself will be a key for the Giants this offseason, especially if Justin Tuck leaves in free agency.
