They have much in common, being Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks, but Joe Namath couldn’t be more different than Troy Aikman on one front.

Namath told CBS in an interview that will air Sunday morning that he has heath problems now tied to concussions from his playing days.

“I’ve been some through some things medically,” Namath said in the excerpt, via the New York Daily News. “I’ve seen some things on my brain. But I’ve had some treatment – and I’ve improved.

“None of the body was designed to play football. Excuse me, you know, football, we’re just not designed for.”

Of course, Namath has other health problems from his days with the game, as he’s had both knees replaced.

It will be interesting to see if there’s any follow-up to his claims in the full interview, specifically on the problems he’s had related to his cognitive health.
