Book ’em: Seahawks go up 5-0 in first quarter

The Seahawks have just given the poor guy with the 5-0 box at your party some hope for a score.

After the remarkable safety to start the game, the Seahawks were only able to tack three more onto it with a Steven Hauschka field goal.

Russell Wilson came up just short on a third-down run, and coach Pete Carroll burned a timeout with an unsuccessful challenge of the spot.

The drive was promising for the Seahawks, with Percy Harvin running for 30 yards on a reverse (and not needing immediate medical attention). But Wilson also missed a wide open screen pass, part of a sloppy start for the two best teams in football.

The Bucs allowed a safety and a FG in their blowout of the Raiders in the only other #1 defense vs #1 offense game.

    Not looking good for Seattle.

Nevermind, that Tom Tupa punt block was a TD not a safety. I’m an idiot.

15 yard penalty not called on 31 for hawks. Led with crown and hit him in the head neck area. Guess the NFL wants to hand it to the cheaters after all.

It is amazing how many people in football don’t know the difference between an end-around and a reverse.

Refs continue to hand the came to cheat Carroll. Unreal how poor this officiating is so far. I guess Allen’s money can buy a Super Bowl. The NFL should be embarrassed by this.

And no PI called on 29 when he CLEARLY cut off the route of the receiver with his back to the ball. Denver is just flat out getting cheated. Worst Super Bowl to date.

Thelionsguy .. He cut him off that’s a judgment call, you lose football cred NOT KNOWING 29 IS EARL THOMAS III otherwise known as one of the candidates for DMVP and is the clear best safety in the entire NFL .. That ball was also possibly un catchable probably why the announcer after first calling for a penalty during the podcast replay didn’t say it against bc the defender has the right to the ball ..

    Lionsdraftguy .. U don’t know football .
